Originally a water conservation demonstration garden, it has been renovated to showcase River-Friendly Landscaping practices.  The garden is located in the Laguna Creek Watershed next to the Sacramento County Water Agency’s Water Treatment Plant on Waterman Road between Rendham Way and Westray Drive, about 0.4 mile north of Calvine.  The garden is open 7am–7pm daily. Construction of the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade, also known as, the EchoWater Project, is expected to cost a total of $2 billion and will take place over eight years. Not far from Sacramento, the City of Pacifica is beginning a Sewer Lateral Replacement Program. Defective, leaking or failed sewer laterals will be inspected by the City’s staff to see if the lateral qualifies for this program. If so, the homeowner is reimbursed $1000 from the city towards having the lateral replaced. The homeowner is not reimbursed until the job is completed and has documented proof.
